FIFA rules apply as applicable. Otherwise, according to the Swedish Football Association's competition rules. The cup also takes into account the age rule, which means that age classes up to 12 years only play group games.
The cup is permitted by the Stockholm Football Association (StFF), which means that it follows the policies and recommendations given by StFF in order to arange a football cup.
Participating teams must belong to a club registered in their country's FIFA affiliated federation. In those countries where school football is a competition form, school teams are also allowed to participate in the cup if they are joined to its country's sports association.
The teams in age classes 13-19 years are divided into groups of four (where applicable), each playing against each other in a single series. The order between the teams is determined by scored points. Victory gives 3 points, drawn match 1 point, loss 0 points. If two or more teams have the same scored points, the order is determined as follows:
1. Goal difference
2. Highest number of scored goals
3. Results in the match(es) between teams with equal points (head to head)
4. Penalty shoot-out according to the FIFA rules alternatively draw
Playoffs for age classes 13-19 years
The first part of the playoff is a qualifying round, which determines whether the team enters A or B playoffs (1st or 2nd in the group serie) and C or D playoffs (3rd or 4th in the group serie). All teams pass on from qualifying rounds. Any fifth-placed teams in the group play go directly to the D-playoffs. In qualifying and final games, a game can not end with a tie. If a game at full time is equal, penalty shoot-out is applied immediately without any previous prolongation. At least 5 games per team.
Age classes 10-12 years
The introductory group games will be played with four teams (where applicable), where everyone plays vs everyone. The teams are then divided into new groups of four teams (if applicable) and play a second group game where everyone again plays vs everyone. The new groups are being determined to create as even, developing and fun games as possible. At least 5 games per team.
News for 2021 is that we offer two classes within age category 11 and 12, where one is easy and the other one advanced/hard. If we can't fill these classes with enough teams, we will merge these together.
Age classes 8-9 years
B/G8 and B/G9 will be played during two days. The introductory group games will be played with four teams (where applicable), where everyone plays vs everyone. The teams are then divided into new groups of three or four teams and play a second group game where everyone plays vs everyone. The new groups are being determined to create as even, developing and fun games as possible. At least 5 games per team on two game days.
